What are the necessary requirements to apply for Canadian citizenship?

Candidate must meet the following requirements in order to apply for Canadian citizenship:

• Applicant must be a permanent resident.
• Applicant must have lived three out of five last years in Canada. (At least 1,095 days)
• The candidate between the age of 18 to 54 years have to pass the citizenship test.
• Applicant should at least meet the CBL (Canadian Language Benchmark) level 4.
• In case of any past criminal record, applicants would be prohibited from becoming Canadian citizens.
